Life was spiraling downhill. Outwardly my daughter was bubbly, always smiling, and perky. Inwardly I new she was broken, hurting and miserable. Despite her strong biblical foundation, and being raised in the church, she wore many masks. She'd become very dishonest, selfish, and rebellious. So how could all of this be happening? The very life that brought such joy to everyone was dying slowly. For years she had struggled with an eating disorder, but as a mom I knew that there was more to it than that.
I asked her if she would fill out an application to Mercy Ministries and she was finally at the point of seeing she needed help. The application process expedited much faster than we ever anticipated. Some how I knew God was orchestrating everything. Shortly later we received a phone call to tell us she was accepted. Three weeks later she was to start Mercy in St Louis.
Releasing her to a group of people I didn't know, a place I'd never seen was one of the most challenging things I'd ever done as a mom. I trusted God more than myself.
